It has been suggested on rememberingwill.blogspot.com that book donations would be a good way to honor Will as well as generate more resources on campus related to trans/queer issues. I contacted the library about the possibility, and I got a favorable reaction from Muriel Godbout, the Associate Library Director:</span><br /><pre><span style="font-family:arial;">Hello Meghan,</span><br /><br /><span style="font-family:arial;">What a wonderful idea. Thank you for thinking of the Library as a means of</span><br /><span style="font-family:arial;">honoring Will.</span><br /><br /><span style="font-family:arial;">We would be pleased to add to our collection on transgender/queer</span><br /><span style="font-family:arial;">issues. The only</span><br /><span style="font-family:arial;">criterion is that we do not duplicate. If we have the title, we would</span><br /><span style="font-family:arial;">prefer to add something</span><br /><span style="font-family:arial;">that we don't already hold.</span><br /><br /><span style="font-family:arial;">As for logistics, who would do the selection? Would it be guided by a</span><br /><span style="font-family:arial;">faculty member with</span><br /><span style="font-family:arial;">the intention of it being used in the curriculum? It doesn't have to</span><br /><span style="font-family:arial;">be, I was just wondering.</span><br /><span style="font-family:arial;">Also, how do you wish to proceed? Is this a one time offer? In which</span><br /><span style="font-family:arial;">case, would a reference</span><br /><span style="font-family:arial;">title be out of place?</span><br /><br /><span style="font-family:arial;">A book plate will be placed in the book with either "Given in Honor of</span><br /><span style="font-family:arial;">William Liberi '05" or "Given</span><br /><span style="font-family:arial;">in Memory of William Liberi '05", whichever you prefer.</span><br /><br /><span style="font-family:arial;">Again, we are so grateful to be included.</span><br /><span style="font-family:arial;">Muriel</span><br /><br /><br /><span style=";font-family:georgia;font-size:130%;" >From here we need to decide how we'd like this project to play out.
