Blog Contributions

If anyone in particular wants to be come a blog contributor/help with finding out the possibilities for this project let me know, I'd be happy to add someone!

Welcome!

This blog was created to serve as a forum for discussion related to donating books to the Wells College Library in memory/honor of Will Liberi '05. It has been suggested on rememberingwill.blogspot.com that book donations would be a good way to honor Will as well as generate more resources on campus related to trans/queer issues. I contacted the library about the possibility, and I got a favorable reaction from Muriel Godbout, the Associate Library Director:
Hello Meghan,

What a wonderful idea. Thank you for thinking of the Library as a means of
honoring Will.

We would be pleased to add to our collection on transgender/queer
issues. The only
criterion is that we do not duplicate. If we have the title, we would
prefer to add something
that we don't already hold.

As for logistics, who would do the selection? Would it be guided by a
faculty member with
the intention of it being used in the curriculum? It doesn't have to
be, I was just wondering.
Also, how do you wish to proceed? Is this a one time offer? In which
case, would a reference
title be out of place?

A book plate will be placed in the book with either "Given in Honor of
William Liberi '05" or "Given
in Memory of William Liberi '05", whichever you prefer.

Again, we are so grateful to be included.
Muriel

From here we need to decide how we'd like this project to play out. We could generate a list
of recommended books that could be provided to individuals that are interested in donating.
Another prominent suggestion from rememberingwill.blogspot.com is to have a book donated
as a prize for a faculty/staff award on an annual basis.
I'm sure there are some other great ideas out there as well!
